Economics Help Room
The Econ Help Room is currently offering sessions in Statistics for Economics on Monday and Wednesday from 6 to 8pm with Chloe. More courses will be added to the help room at a later date. Please check back. The hours are drop-in. Click HERE for the Zoom links. (Also, use this link to contact the tutor directly, if needed.)
Tutoring will be available for Intro to Economic Reasoning, Introductory Statistics Courses, Math Methods for Economics, Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, Intermediate Microeconomic Theory and Econometrics at a later date. We prioritize Barnard courses and due to differences in teaching methods and topics, we may not be able to help with your Columbia courses.
Remember: The tutors are your peers and the EHR is a judgment-free zone. There is no such thing as a stupid question in the EHR!
Also, if you use the EHR, please keep the following in mind:
First and foremost, at the start of the semester, there will be an adjustment period, so not everything will go smoothly at first. You should feel free to send any comments via email to Dept. Administrator, Regina Roberts, (email@example.com) or Dept. Chair, Associate Professor, Homa Zarghamee (firstname.lastname@example.org). All comments will be kept confidential.
Second, consider that tutors might not have had the same professor as you do and might not have used the same textbook. Therefore, it could be helpful for you to share class materials with them.
You can find updates about the EHR throughout the semester on this page or just go to the Economics department home page, and find a link to this page under Student Resources.
