Current Open Positions:
1. [Update: Positions Filled] Term Assistant Professor in Economics, 2022-2023 The one-year Term Assistant Professor position will begin in July 2022. The position will require teaching five courses over the academic year. Strong candidates will demonstrate a willingness and ability to teach an introductory economics course, an introductory statistics course, and one of: Intermediate Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, or Math Methods for Economics. Ability to teach a course related to International Economics or the History of Economic Thought would also be desirable, but not essential. Please see the full job posting here.
2. Research Scholars. The Department of Economics welcomes applications from research scholars interested in visiting Barnard while on leave from their home institutions. Research scholar positions provide an institutional affiliation with access to Barnard and Columbia resources and facilities, but do not come with any salary, benefits, or a private office. The first step in the application process involves nomination by a member of our full-time faculty, ideally someone with whom the scholar plans to work closely during their stay. A formal letter of application and vita should be sent to the department chair after the nomination.
